Honeywell Turbochargers Enable Fuel Efficiency & Performance in India's New Volkswagen & ≈†koda 1.5L TDI Diesel Engines

Honeywell is providing its industry-leading variable-geometry, diesel turbocharger technology to Volkswagen for its new 1.5L TDI diesel engine designed and developed in India to meet the unique needs of the local automotive market in the newest versions of Volkswagen and ŠKODA models.
The 1.5L TDI diesel engine, with Honeywell’s variable nozzle technology (VNT) technology, replaced a smaller 1.2L TDI diesel engine as well as a larger 1.6L TDI diesel engine in the Volkswagen Polo, Vento and the ŠKODA Rapid, offering improved responsiveness, performance and fuel economy. Configurations with this engine went on sale in late 2014 for all three models.

The solutions for Volkswagen and Škoda were developed in Honeywell’s design, engineering and manufacturing centers in Pune and Bangalore, India, world-class facilities that translate Honeywell global technology platforms into localized solutions for the region.
