Honeywell Honored as Technology & Consumer Electronics Team of the Year
August 18, 2016
World Trademark Review has recognized Honeywell's trademark team with its Technology & Consumer Electronics Team of the Year Award. The team includes lawyers David Cohen, Jerry Xia, Sally Wang and Emily Brown and paralegals Beth Nussbaum and Polly Jiang.
The 2016 award, which is featured in the magazine's August / September issue, is designed to recognize the important work carried out by in-house trademark counsel and to identify the teams and individuals that are performing their functions to the highest possible standards.
In highlighting what makes the Honeywell team so successful, Honeywell Chief Trademark Counsel David Cohen, said “We have a very consistent global approach on search, registration, and enforcement, which allows us to guide our businesses in a more predictable manner. In addition, we have a strong business mind-set, so our businesses view us as part of their team. And, finally, we have very effective assistance from our worldwide law firms.”
Over the course of the year, the Honeywell trademark team won a China court victory that was cited as a best practice by the Quality Brand Protection Committee. They also obtained well-known status for the Honeywell trademark in India and had several high-profile criminal prosecution wins against large-scale counterfeiters, which delivered strong deterrents in the marketplace.
